The Economics Department is housed within the School of Business at New Jersey City University, and it is composed of scholarly-active faculty committed to the highest level of teaching excellence and invested in fostering student success.
Economics majors learn economic theory and statistical methods that develop keen analytical skills that are suited to evaluate diverse situations, including economic policy. The Economics Department offers a major concentration that leads to an Economics B.A. The Department also offers a minor concentration in economics and general education courses that non-majors can take. Find a full list of the Economics Department course offerings here.
The enhanced analytical and quantitative skills that our students learn enable them to pursue careers in business, public administration, finance, consulting, journalism, foreign service, politics, education, or economic research. Training in economics also prepares students who want to pursue graduate studies. Our programs prepare graduates to pursue advanced degrees in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, or Data Science.
