Early Childhood Education with P–3 Teacher Certification

Completion of this major prepares educators to work with children from birth through eight years of age in a variety of child-development and school settings. Candidates will also be eligible to apply for Certificate of Eligibility in Advanced Standing in P3. Emphasis is placed on current theory and research in child development and application to early childhood education practice.

Early Childhood Education Major with Dual Certification in Early Childhood (P–3) and Special Education (Teacher of Students with Disabilities)

Students who complete this program will be eligible for Preschool through Grade Three Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing and the Teacher of Students with Disabilities Endorsement.

Early Childhood Education Major with Dual Teacher Certification in Early Childhood (P–3) and Elementary Education (K–6), B.A.

This major prepares educators to work with children from for preschool through grade six. Students who complete this program will be eligible for the New Jersey Preschool through Grade Three and the Elementary Teacher Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing.

Early Childhood Education Major with a Specialization in Infant Toddler Services, B.A.

The Infant Toddler Services program option will include five core ECE courses or a total of 13 credits from the current Early Childhood Major and 23 credits of specialized courses in infant-toddler services. Students pursuing this option will also be required to take two of the four courses that are prerequisites to any of the Early Childhood options or a total of 6 credits. This option will also include the 9 credits related to the key indicators for infant toddler teachers.
