R.N. to B.S.N. Nursing Program
New Jersey City University RN-BSN program is designed to seamlessly transition nurses from the associate degree, a Diploma program or a formal education from another country to the Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN). Our curriculum is focused on preparing nurses to lead in the acute care or community/population health settings. The current BSN courses of Quality and Safety, Leadership, Research and Population Health will prepare you for a dynamic, changing healthcare environment. The RN-BSN Program has unique and timely nursing electives in which the student choses any two of the following courses as part of the core BSN curriculum, Spanish for Healthcare Providers, Pathophysiology, Complementary and Alternative Nursing Practice, Women’s Healthcare Disparities, The History of Nursing Practice, Global Perspectives in Health and Spirituality in Nursing. Student involvement at the Nursing Department includes invited membership in the Kappa Eta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society, participation with the nursing department meetings, travel study and many events to benefit our communities. NJCU offers excellent transfer student scholarships, based on your GPA, so nurses graduate with minimal debt. Please review transfer scholarship criteria here.
All students may start the BSN curriculum but are required to obtain a current Registered Nurse license in the State of New Jersey prior to taking their clinical courses; Nursing Leadership (NURS 440) and Population Health (NURS 475).
The NJCU RN-BSN program has (7) Articulation Agreements with our local Associate degree community colleges, each curriculum plan at the bottom of this page that enhance a seamless transition to the BSN.
The RN-BSN program is available at our Fort Monmouth location in Oceanport, NJ, More information about this location can be found here.
